Portal 2 Out On Mac
Valve Software has launched their highly anticipated video game title Portal 2 this week. Added to that, the company made a simultaneous launch on the Mac to accompany the Windows, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 launch of the game software.
Portal 2 is the sequel to the widely well reviewed game Portal. The game involves the user manipulating two teleporting portals to solves physics-based puzzles. The sequel picks up where the original game left off. The game has gotten good user reviews with one person from the MacRumors Forums having installed the game on their 2011 15″ MacBook Pro with great performance with maxed out settings.
Real Racing HD Supporting 1080p Output On Dual Displays
One the most played games on the iOS platform, Real Racing, is having a big update for the new iPad 2. Firemint’s Real Racing HD is receiving support for 1080p resolution while serving two separate displays: The iPad and another of the user’s choice. This software demonstrates the power of the Apple A5 processor that has dual cores operating the device.
“Using the video out feature of an iPad 2, Real Racing 2 HD will be able to be displayed on a big screen in full 1080p resolution while the device’s 10-inch touchscreen shows a track map and race statistics.
Mutant Bash Comes to iOS
Possible the best-looking shooter to make its way the iOS platform would be id softwares Mutant Bash TV. The software is based on the graphics engine derived from another next generation shooter that the group is working on called Rage. The game has officially made its debut on the App Store this week
The Incident Coming to a TV Near You
Makers of the iOS game The Incident have announced that they will be making their title on the iOS platform extend to your television set and allow for you iPhone or iPod to control your gameplay. Big Bucket Software gave word on their blog stating,

Apple approving Game Center apps for iPad
More and more signs are showing themselves indicating that the iOS 4.2 software update is on it’s way to an iPhone, iPod and iPad near you. One of the latest signs to show it’s face is the beginning of Apple approving applications with Game Center integration for the iPad.
DeNA Bags ngmoco for $400 Million
Ngmoco is undoubtedly one of the most successful game developers on the iOS platform. Makers of the highly popular adventure game Rolando and the first person shooting game Eliminate, the founders of the company Neil Young, Bob Stevenson, Alan Yu and Joe Keene have decided to be absorbed by Japanese social game developer DeNA for a cool 400 million dollars. Founder and CEO of DeNA Tomoko Namba had some nice things to say for the talent picked implying that they have been looking for talent like this in the market for a while now.
Apple Vulnerability Fix Ready To Go, Graphics Update And A New Addition To Apple
Well after a few hours of the pretty largely publicized web-based jailbreak fiasco, Apple has already shopped up a fix and said that it will be released in the next firmware update of iOS, according to what CNET is reporting.
On Wednesday an Apple spokeswoman said in a statement, “We’re aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”
On Live Game Service Being Demoed On iPad At E3

At the E3 conference, along with the All Things Digital [D8] event, an organization called OnLive showcased a demonstration of their streaming gaming service on the iPad. TouchArcade managed to record footage of the demo playing the Xbox 360/PC title “Borderlands” at the event [posted below]
Because of its raw tech demo state, the controls are less than ideal. The client uses a weird virtual joystick button layout that I don’t really think would be very useful for anything outside of just demonstrating what is possible. The following video walks through the OnLive iPad client, and shows Borderlands running, an XBOX and PC game. Also, after that, we load up Dragon Age: Origins, which didn’t work because it didn’t have gamepad controls, and finally we spectated on some games in session by other OnLive members.
Apple Turns On Game Center For Developers
Apple has flicked the switch to ON for Game Center, allowing developers to log into the Apple-created online gaming network for the first time. Users can sign in and track achievements, compare scores, check ranks and leader boards, match-make and construct parties of other iPhone users to play a game. Apple also provides separate tools for developers to use in aiding them to implement Game Center support inside of the applications.
